Welcome to Carp Somnium, we are nestled in the heart of the Northern French countryside, Carp Somnium is a unique carp fishery opening March 2026 that promises an angling experience like no other. Surrounded by rolling hills and serene landscapes, this idyllic haven offers anglers the opportunity to catch some of the most stunning and well-conditioned carp in Europe.
With its tranquil waters and picturesque setting, Carp Somnium is not just a fishery, but a dreamlike escape where every cast brings the potential for a truly memorable catch. Whether you're an avid angler or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Carp Somnium invites you to immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of its extraordinary environment.
The stock is truly amazing here at Carp Somnium, we have around 100 carp with several of the inhabitants pushing the 60lb mark. We have it all from scaley bangers, scale perfect linear's and we have to mention the handful of huge commons. There are even a few surprises with some stunning Koi's. The lake has never been fished commercially so there really is a sense of mystery when you fish at Carp Somnium.
THE LAKE
Carp Somnium Fishing Lake is situated in a picturesque location only an 1hr 20 mins from Calais, it is surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil landscapes. The serene environment provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The lake is 4.5 acres in size and has 2 double swims and 2 single swims and can host a maximum of 6 anglers comfortably. We have built a lodge with toilet and shower facilities. The Lodge is equipped with a small kitchen area and also has electricity to charge your appliances throughout your stay with us.

Carp Somnium wants the most memorable experience for its guests, the venue is for your enjoyment and pleasure. - Carp care is paramount at Carp Somnium.
- Anglers must use the mats, slings and nets provided by the fishery and not their own.
- Retaining and sacking of fish is not allowed.
- All carp over 50lb to remain in the water for photos.
- All anglers must have their own carp care kit.
- Quick links must be undone or hook length cut before fish leaves the water,
do not carry rod and fish in the landing net at the same time.
RIGS AND BAIT RULES
-No lead core or lead core leaders.
- All leads must be able to come free or be ejected, tail rubbers must not to
be pushed all the way on and inline leads must be able to come free.
- No maggots, worms or nuts allowed.
- Strictly pellet and particle mix must be bought from the fishery only.
- Small amount of micro pellet allowed for solid bags or stick mix only.
-No freezers on site
- All spombs / spods must have a float
- Micro barbed hooks only
- Maximum of 3 rods per angler
- No braided mainline.
- Minimum 18lb breaking strain line. No pulling for breaks.
GENERAL RULES
- All vehicles must remain in the car park when on site. Strictly no driving around the lake.
- Gates open for new anglers at 1pm on Saturdays,
- Anglers should be out of their swims by 9.30am and ready to depart by 10.00am.
- Make sure all facilities are respected and clean after use.
- All swims must be kept clean and left tidy, bins are provided for bottles, and glass.
Black sacks are provided for general rubbish.
- If smoking on site we expect no cigarettes to be thrown or left anywhere around the fishery.
- No fires, loud music or shouting across the lakes.
- No dogs permitted.
- Unsociable behaviour will not be tolerated.
- General maintenance may be carried out when needed
BOAT RULES
- Bait boats are permitted and recommended.
- A rowing boat is provided with 2 life jackets. Life jackets must be worn at all times.
- The boat can be used as you wish, however no dropping rigs.
- The rowing boat must be washed and cleaned at the end of the week.
- No H blocks or Pole markers.
